Cranberry Sauce

This recipe is so simple and basic, there is NO excuse to buy that nasty store bought canned sauce.

Ingredients & Supplies

  • 1 (12 oz.) bag fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest

Instructions

  1. In saucepan, combine sugar, water, and orange juice. Bring to a boil.
  2. Add cranberries and orange zest. Reduce heat and simmer until cranberries burst and sauce thickens, about 10 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool. Sauce will thicken further as it cools.

Tips & Notes

Optionally, add cinnamon to taste for extra flavor.
