Chocolate Chip Cookies

Classic chocolate chip cookies that are soft, chewy, and loaded with chocolate chips.

Ingredients & Supplies

  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) room temperature unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Stir flour with baking soda and salt; set aside
  3. Beat butter with sugar and brown sugar until creamy.
  4. Add vanilla and eggs, one at a time, mixing on low speed until incorporated.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients into creamed mixture (about 1/4 cup at a time).
  6. Fold in chocolate chips.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 9-11 minutes or until edges are golden brown.

Tips & Notes

Add in white chocolate chips and milk chocolate chips for a variety of flavors.

For chocolate chunk cookies, use chopped chocolate bars instead of chips.
